The anti-trans LGB Alliance used the emergence of Monkeypox a few weeks ago to call for a shutdown of leather & fetish bars & events. We saw reactionary forces attempt the same in the early 1980s with the arrival of HIV; they were successful in decimating cultural institutions of bathhouses and bars with darkrooms. The effects of those closures--not only on gay men, but on lesbians, trans, and gender-nonconforming people who used them--are still felt today. A reminder that we have common cause.
@aphyr okay I have to ask, do you plan on watching Star Trek Lower Decks after Discovery?
Just got out of the Bobs Burgers movie, it was sooo good. Originally it was supposed to come out on my birthday, unfortunately it got pushed back, but it’s toll felt like it was one of those rare films that feel like it was made for you. I also wish I could’ve seen it with someone, but hey, life happens and it doesn’t happen.
This is pissing me off more than it probably should. Especially with it happening at the beginning of Pride.
